TOYS HEARTS AND PROMISES
Poem #0011
On her dying bed she calls me, to her side to say Goodbye
A lifetime of advice to share, in a moments brief Reprise
Her teddy bear she gives me, a toy that now is Mine
I had to promise to never break it, for now and for all Time
Long life and dreams of happiness, may your wishes all come True
And that you love and be loved, is my simple prayer for You
My heart to you is given, with love and grace Divine
I had to promise to never break it, for now and for all Time
Oh, how I wish I could guide you, and be with you through the Years
A Mother’s wish and promise, please hold my memory Near
Three things should never be broken, but kept safe ‘till you Die
A Toy, a Heart, a Promise, my darling please don’t Cry
Always remember
Three things should never be broken, but kept safe ‘till you Die
A Toy, a Heart, a Promise, my darling please don’t Cry
