SO, YOU’RE DISAPPOINTED
Poem #0022
Disappointment and discouragement, are one in the same
They both offer us, a reason to leave the game
We can say to ourselves, that life doesn’t matter
But that will only make us, upset and sadder
There’s no protection against it, it’s just an illusion
It never makes sense, it’s total confusion
But if you should say, life’s too hard to handle
You’ve turned out the light, and you’ve blown out the candle
We should never lean on, our own understanding
Just live by His Word, and hear His commanding
We don’t get to choose, the battles we fight
But if you read the Bible, you’ll know wrong from right
If life’s not turning out, the way that you planed
It may be that you’re not listening, and you just don’t understand
So, take some time, to sit quiet and still
And avoid disappointment, by following His will
God doesn’t offer, a life without discouragement
But He sent His Son, with words of encouragement
So, take up His offer, and put Him to the test
And He’ll give you His Love, Peace, and Rest
