ABOUT GOD AND HEAVEN

Poem #0030

A little boy asked his Father, as he looked up to the sky

Do you promise to be with me, after I die

The Father turned his head away, not knowing what to say

But he turned back quickly and said, let’s talk about Judgement Day

God tells us about heaven, in the last book of the Bible

We can trust everything He says, His word is reliable

He tells us of the mansion, where we’ll spend eternity

We’ll be together with our family, and this is a certainty

Son you’re wise for your age, why you’re almost seven

And I’m happy that you’re asking questions, about God and Heaven

Most boys your age, want to talk about trucks and fishing

Not thinking about the after-life, just hoping and wishing

Don’t worry about tomorrow, and whether you’ll be alone

If you can’t find all your answers, just take them to the throne

There is a place called Heaven, but you need to trust and believe

And if you put God first, all His blessings you will receive
