WHY AM I SO DEPRESSED
Poem #0024
It’s like being in a hole, you can’t climb out of
Or caught in a net, like a helpless dove
Crying doesn’t help, and neither does rage
You need to open the Bible, and turn to the right page
Depression is different, from sadness or grief
It comes without warning, it attacks like a thief
It’s like a heavy weight, has been placed on your shoulders
Not little small rocks, but big giant boulders
The weight of course, makes it very hard to breath
You struggle every moment, the pain to relieve
But you’re not strong enough, to go it alone
You need to be humble, and take it to the throne
Of course, praying helps, if we do it everyday
But prayer alone, won’t make it go away
We need to understand, the battle won’t be won
Till God says it’s over, till God says it’s done
Both King David and Moses, suffered from depression
Should they ask God for help, that was never in question
Neither man hesitated, they both just confessed
Then they stopped asking the question, Why Am I So Depressed
